Part coffee table tome, part cookbook, Fig & Olive’s first publishing effort arrives this October. Releasing later in the month from publisher Assouline, “The Cuisine of the French Riviera” is being sold as part of the Fashion Island restaurant’s retail collection.

Recipes from Fig & Olive founder Laurent Halasz—who grew up in Mougins, 15 minutes away from Cannes—make up the heart of the book. Eight sections, ranging from aperitifs and soups to fish and desserts, take at-home chefs on a culinary tour of France. Find familiar dishes from the restaurant, such as crostinis, rosemary lamb chops and a caramelized apple tart, along with recipes from Halasz’s mother, Francine. The step-by-step instructions are accompanied by stunning imagery from the South of France showcasing fresh, seasonal produce, local markets and beautifully arranged plates.
