Balboa Beach Music Fest Raises More Than $100,000 for Historic Theater
The first annual Balboa Beach Music Fest brought more than 2,000 people to Peninsula Park on Oct. 13 to enjoy performances from indie artists such as Matt Nathanson, Joshua Radin and A Fine Frenzy. The event raised more than $100,000 to support the renovation of the historic Balboa Performing Arts Theater, a 300-seat concert venue dating back to 1928. The daylong festival featured a dozen musical acts on two stages, as well as food and beverage stands, a sports lounge and VIP cabanas. —A.H.
