Follies Raise More Than $500,000 for CHOC
The 2012 CHOC Follies featured a cast of more than 90 local residents and professionals who traded their suits and dresses for a more outrageous look in “Christina and the Crystal Ball, A Cinderella Story for the Social Net Set.” The hilarious spoof of the classic fairytale featured song, dance and cameos from celebrity look-a-likes. More than 2,300 people enjoyed a spectacular production featuring Broadway veteran April Malina in the title role. CHOC Follies raised more than $500,000 for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. This year’s proceeds will support the construction of “The Voice,” an interactive multimedia center for patients to engage in creative activities related to broadcast media. Over the last 15 years, the Follies have raised more than $6 million for CHOC, thanks to the creative talents and contributions from more than 1,000 cast members—the real stars of OC. —Christopher Schulz
