The 13th Annual Orange County Arts Awards Celebrate Progress and Achievement in the Arts
Artists and art lovers gathered on Sept. 18 to honor those who have enriched the cultural life of Orange County through the arts at the 13th Annual Orange County Arts Awards. With a reception and dinner held at Leatherby’s Cafe Rouge, and awards ceremonies held inside Samueli Theater, the night’s festivities were embellished with performances from Pacific Chorale’s John Alexander Singers, All-American Boys Chorus, Orange County Women’s Chorus and de Angelis Vocal Ensemble. Among the honorees, arts donor and board member of many OC arts organizations Barbara Roberts accepted a Helena Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award for herself and her late husband William’s contributions to the arts community. In her acceptance speech, Barbara recounted how the couple became involved in the arts. “It’s not how much money you have; it’s what your passions are,” she concluded. —L.D.
