A Night of Broadway Raises $150,00 for the Philharmonic Society
The annual A Night of Broadway at the Philharmonic Supper Club was a great mix of fun and philanthropy on March 9. For its 2012 benefit gala, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County transformed the Samueli Theater at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts into an exclusive supper club.
More than 200 guests were treated to a four-course meal from Patina restaurant, paired with estate wines from Heitz Cellars. Afterward, the band and cast members from “100 Years of Broadway” performed some of Broadway’s most beloved standards. A live auction featured unique items, such as a baton autographed by maestro Riccardo Muti and the opportunity to meet musical stars Itzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma. More than $150,00 was raised to support the Philharmonic Society and its Youth Music Education Programs. —Christopher Schulz
